Lake Char, also known as Lake Trout, Mackinaw Trout have roughly the same amount of omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) as salmon. The flesh of lake char is firm, rich in flavor and white to red , more often deep orange in color. It is oily and is often enjoyed broiled, baked, smoked, and BBQ'd. A healthy addition to any meal.! The benefits of having been wild caught is having higher counts of natural omega-3 fatty acids.
